Where & When

Congress Location

11-13 June 2025 at Politecnico di Milano, Departement of Design, Campus Bovisa, via Durando 10, Milano 20158, Italy

Welcome to Milan! Whether you’re traveling from within Italy or coming from abroad, Milan is easily accessible by various means of transportation. Here’s how you can get to the heart of the city:

By Plane

Milan is served by three major airports:
Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP): Located 50 km northwest of the city, Malpensa is the largest international airport in Milan, with connections to most major cities around the world. You can easily reach the city center via the Malpensa Express train, bus services, or taxis.

Milan Linate Airport (LIN): Just 7 km from the city, Linate is perfect for short-haul flights within Europe and domestic routes. You can get from Linate to the heart of Milan by taxi, bus (Line 73), or the M4 (Blue) Metro line.
Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport (BGY): Known for budget airlines, Bergamo is about 45 km from Milan. Buses and shuttles frequently connect to the main train stations of Milan.

By Train

The fastest and most convenient way to reach Campus Bovisa is by train, which you can take from different parts of the city thanks to the Urban Railway Network (Passante Ferroviario), connected to Milan's transport lines (metro, bus and tram).

The destination station to reach the campus is Milano Bovisa, which is just a short walk from the University. The station is served by several suburban railway lines (S1, S2, S3, S4, S13), as well as regional and high-speed trains from different stations (If you need a map of the urban railway network, you can refer to the ATM map for detailed directions). Remember also that you can use the same ticket you use for public transport also to take the train to Bovisa.

For example, from Milano Centrale take the suburban lines S1, S2 or S13 to Milano Bovisa. The journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

From Milano Cadorna: take suburban lines S3 or S4 directly to Milano Bovisa. The journey takes approximately 10 minutes.

By Car

If you prefer driving, Milan is well connected by highways (autostrade) from all major Italian and European cities. However, keep in mind that Milan has two traffic–restricted zones (Area B and C). Make sure to check the rules and verify if your vehicle can enter.

By Bus

Long-distance buses, including FlixBus and other international services, regularly stop at Milano, offering budget-friendly options from many European destinations.

Once you’ve arrived in Milan, the city offers an efficient and widespread public transportation system, including metro, trams, buses, taxis and ride-sharing services. The Conference takes place at Bovisa Campus, situated in the northern part of the city. It is well connected by public transport, making it easy to reach from various parts of Milan. Here’s how you can get to the Campus:

By Train

The fastest and most convenient way to reach the Bovisa Campus is by train.

The campus is located near the Milano Bovisa railway station, which is served by multiple suburban train lines (S1, S2, S3, S4, S13), as well as regional and high-speed trains from Milano Centrale, Milano Garibaldi, and Milano Cadorna stations.

The campus is just a short walk from the station.

From Milano Centrale: Take the S1, S2, or S13 suburban lines to Milano Bovisa.

The journey takes about 15-20 minutes.

From Milano Cadorna: Take the S3 or S4 suburban lines directly to Milano Bovisa. The trip takes approximately 10 minutes.

By Metro and Bus

Metro: You can also take the Metro Line M3 (yellow line) to Dergano station, then transfer to a bus (Line 82) which will bring you close to the Bovisa campus.
Bus:  Several bus lines connect to Bovisa, including Line 92 and Line 82, both of which stop near the campus.

By Car

If you prefer to drive, the Bovisa Campus is easily accessible by car. However, parking in the area can be limited, so it’s recommended to use public transportation when possible. The congestion charge zone (Area C) in the city center does not apply to the Bovisa area.

By Bike or Scooter

Milan has a well-developed network of bike lanes and shared bike and scooter services, making it easy to cycle or use an electric scooter to reach the campus. Services like BikeMi and MiMoto have docking stations and parking spots near Bovisa.
